Summary of the Request
The Requesters claim that due to the lack of public environmental information about the Project, they fear potential unknown impact on their health caused by exposure to pollution, hazardous substances and waste resulting from paper production. Also, the Requesters demand that MICI provide the entire Project’s environmental and social information that is classified as public.
Recent actions
On July 31, 2017, the MICI notified the Requesters that their Request was not registered as one of the exclusions set out in the MICI Policy applied, specifically paragraph 19 (f), which states that neither the Consultation Phase nor the Compliance Review Phase will be applied to Requeststhat are filed more than 24 months after the last disbursement of the relevant IIC-Financed Operation. Also, the Requesters were informed that MICI is not the instance for processing CII requests for information, so MICI suggested to send their request for information to the corresponding instance.
