Summary of the Request
The Requesters claim that, due to the lack of public environmental and social information about the Project, they fear possible unknown impact on their health, which could be caused by exposure to pollution and hazardous waste transmitted by air and waterways which could be linked to the “Protection and Recovery of Cultural Heritage Assets Program.” Also, the Requesters demand that MICI provide the Project’s environmental and social information that is classified as public.
Recent actions
On August 1, 2017, MICI notified the Requesters that their Request was not registered as one of the exclusions set out in the MICI Policy applied, specifically paragraph 19 (b), which states that neither the Consultation Phase nor the Compliance Review Phase will be applied to Requests that are without substance. It is MICI’s consideration that the allegations of harm presented in the Request cannot be linked to the Protection and Recovery of Cultural Heritage Assets program and are therefore unfounded.
Also, the Requesters were informed that MICI is not the instance for processing Bank information requests, so MICI suggested that to send their request for information to the corresponding instance within the Bank.
