Summary of the Request
The Request describes a potential economic/property harm due to the expropriation of a portion of land, owned by the Requesters, as part of the Program.
Specifically, the Request states that the owners of the land area have not received the respective indemnification since 2011, when the decree of expropriation was issued. However, the Requesters cannot benefit from the use of the land and must continue paying property taxes. Likewise, they stress that this harm is consequence of bad practices by the local government in a Project financed by the IDB.
Recent actions
On August 27, 2021, the Request was not registered as it related to one of the exclusions provided in paragraph 19 of the MICI-IDB Policy, specifically exclusion 19 literal (f) regarding Requests that are submitted more than 24 months after the last disbursement of the corresponding operation financed by the Bank. According to the Bank's records, the last disbursement of the Project occurred In March 2018.
It is important to note that the Notification of Non-Registration is not an assessment of the merits of the Request, or the issues presented in it. Nor is it a determination of compliance or non-compliance by the IDB with respect to its Pertinent Operational Policies.
