Activities in focus

The XVII Annual Meeting of the Group of Latin American and the Caribbean Debt Management Specialists (LAC Debt Group) was held in a virtual format from April 5th-7th 2022. Sovereign debt management is playing a crucial role in the post pandemic recovery and amid uncertain global conditions.   Debt managers need to support current economic, social, and environmental challenges through robust and innovative strategies.

The LAC Debt Group’s annual meeting is a forum for technical knowledge exchanges and country specific case studies to nurture these LAC regional debt management strategies. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and changing global context, having sound organizational structures and a knowledge of variety of instruments will be key to provide financing to a green and social recovery. The XVII Annual LAC Debt Group Meeting brought together LAC debt managers, representatives of investment funds and rating agencies, to discuss about the status of the LAC debt markets, new ways to develop local markets, new financial instruments to promote a green and social recovery and specific country case studies.
