IDB Group and Leaders of Civil Society in the Caribbean Met in Port of Spain
The Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB) gathered with stakeholders of Caribbean civil society organizations to address challenges within the development agenda of the region on May 27th at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad hotel in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
This forum, under the leadership of Vice President for Countries, Alexandre Meira da Rosa , and hosted by the Minister of Planning and Sustainable Development of Trinidad and Tobago, Senator Bhoendradatt Tewarie, was focused on social innovation and challenges on job and education, public health, transparency, accountability and climate change.
Launch of Call for Proposals during the Forum: The Vice-presidency for Countries of the IDB Group launched the Civil Society for Innovative Solutions Program, announcing the challenge for 2015, and call for proposals. The event was also an opportunity to discuss the next IDB Climate Change Sectorial Framework.
