The IDB Group carries out several meetings during the year. The XV IDB Group-Civil Society Meeting was held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on November 4-5, 2015, under the main topic:Social Innovation. More than 270 participants from 26 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean attended the event.
The IDB maintains regular face to face meetings with civil society, which are led by the Vice Presidency for Countries to promote progress and exchanges between CSOs and Bank specialists on development issues.
Bank Annual Meetings Civil Society. Since 2000, the IDB Group has organized annual meetings with civil society from the 26 borrowing IDB Group in Latin America and the Caribbean. These forums are designed to share presence information and technical expertise; create a purposeful and open dialogue; promote partnerships with the IDB Group operations, the private sector, philanthropic and between the same Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Annual Dialogue between the IDB Group and the Civil Society in the Caribbean. This space provides an opportunity for the IDB Group and Caribbean civil society to exchange technical experiences and perspectives on development challenges and share experiences from other parts of Latin America replicable in the Caribbean to explore collaboration opportunities.
Sessions with civil society in the countries: The IDB Group country offices maintain ongoing dialogue and relations with Civil Society Consultative Groups (ConSOC, for its acronym in Spanish) which hold information sessions, dialogues, cooperation, thematic groups and consultation.

Since 2000, the IDB has been holding annual meetings with the civil society organizations of the region. The main purpose is to hold a dialogue with representatives from civil society organizations and exchange ideas about issues related to the socioeconomic development of the region.

Te has preguntado ¿cómo puedes marcar la diferencia contribuyendo a reducir la pobreza, la desigualdad y la brecha de género a través de los impuestos que pagas?
En el BID estamos en la constante búsqueda de ideas y soluciones para mejorar vidas en América Latina y el Caribe. Es por ello que hemos organizado un Ideatón, una metodología de colaboración abierta que surge de la necesidad de dar respuestas innovadoras a la situación actual que enfrenta la región.
En ese contexto, la División de Gestión Fiscal y Municipal y el Departamento de Conocimiento y Aprendizaje están convocando a un Ideatón en el marco de la XVI Reunión Anual del Grupo BID con la Sociedad Civil, para mejorar políticas fiscales que permitan reducir la pobreza, la desigualdad, y la brecha de género.
Después de una década de alto crecimiento económico y de importantes progresos sociales, América Latina y el Caribe ha entrado en una etapa de oportunidades económicas limitadas, las cuales constituyen un desafío a los avances alcanzados en materia económica y social.
Convencidos de que las políticas fiscales pueden contribuir a resolver estos desafíos, y que las soluciones a estos problemas deben estar adaptados a cada contexto de la región, el BID plantea este Ideatón con la sociedad civil para identificar ejemplos reales que hayan sido implementados en tu país u otros países y evaluar su replicabilidad en la región.
