Trust Funds

The IDB Group administers financial contributions from third parties to complement IDB Group programs, projects and activities aimed at meeting emerging needs of borrowing member countries. To receive contributions, the IDB Group establishes trust funds (single or multidonor; reimbursable and non-reimbursable) and project specific grants, and accesses many financial intermediary funds. Contributions are received from countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, as well as multilateral institutions and private donors.

Donor funds at the IDB Group provide critical additionality to the Bank’s operational program with grant financing resources for technical cooperation and investment grants, while also driving efforts to enhance knowledge production and transfer. Donor funds are increasingly supporting blended finance operations at IDB Invest, innovation at IDB Lab, and co-financing loans in conjunction with the Bank’s Ordinary Capital. The interventions designed with the support of donor resources align to the priority needs of the Region.

Since 2000, donor contributions to trust funds and project specific grants have exceeded US$6 billion. These contributions from our valued partners are serving to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Our trust funds are audited annually and publicly disclosed. Click here to review the latest audit available.
