General Manager, Country Department Central America, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, and the Dominican Republic, and Country Representative in Costa Rica
Fernando Quevedo, Peruvian citizen, is the General Manager of the Country Department for Central America, Haiti, Mexico, Panama and the Dominican Republic (CID) since April 2021. He also serves as the Bank´s Country Representative in Costa Rica.
He joined the Bank in 1991 as an economist and has held different positions during his career, including Senior Project Economist for Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua, Senior Economist in the previous Integration and Regional Programs Department and in the Country Division of the former Regional Operations Department 2, and Country Representative in Costa Rica, Guatemala, as well as in Ecuador since 2017.
Prior to joining the IDB, he worked at the World Bank in the Macroeconomic Adjustment and Growth Division.
Mr. Quevedo holds a master’s degree in Development Banking from American University (USA), where he completed coursework for a doctorate in Economics, and he holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina).
