Opportunities for Young Professionals
The IDB seeks talented young professionals willing to work hard on improving people's lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. The following programs are open to young people exploring a career in the development field.
Graduates holding a Master's or Ph.D.
- The IDB Young Professional Program allows qualified young professionals to gain work experience. Young professionals are assigned to various departments, mostly in operational areas, for up to two years.
- The IDB Diversity Young Professional Program is open to qualified Afro-Descendants and Indigenous candidates who may gain work experience in various departments, for periods of up to two years.
Current graduate students
Graduate students may acquire professional experience and exposure to development work through the following programs:
- Summer Internship Program
- Winter Internship Program
- Summer Diversity Intern Program
- Research Fellows
Current undergraduate students
