Scholarships
The IDB administers two scholarship programs: the Japan Scholarship Program for graduate students in development-related fields, and scholarships to attend social development courses offered by INDES.
Japan-IDB Scholarship Program
The IDB, with funding from the Government of Japan, has established a scholarship program for students from the Bank's borrowing member countries who wish to pursue a Master's degree in development-related fields, such as the social sciences, business, public administration or other technical disciplines (except law and medicine). Scholarship recipients may attend accredited institutions offering Master's programs, located in any of the member countries.
Inter-American Social Development Institute (INDES) Scholarships
Citizens of IDB borrowing member countries are eligible to apply for INDES scholarships, with the exception of officials from international organizations. By registering for any course, participants are also automatically applying for a scholarship.
Participants belonging to institutions not eligible to receive scholarships must indicate in writing their commitment to pay the costs of the course.
INDES scholarships cover participation, required materials and texts, health and life insurance, a roundtrip airline ticket between the city of residence and Washington D.C., and lodging.
Note: Scholarships will NOT include a daily stipend for the duration of the course.
