Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho (SECCI Team) will participate on the panel “Investing in Biofuels - Attracting Private Sector Development”. The panel will discuss the challenges of raising finance, the roles of banks in fostering good policy development in the region and supporting Government-sponsored studies. -
“Scaling Alternative Energy: The Role of Emerging Markets” Medford,, USA, April 11, 2008. The Dialogue is a joint-initiative of the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy (CIERP) and the Center for Emerging Market Enterprises (CEME) at The Fletcher School at Tufts University. The IDB, through SECCI Coordinator Juan Pablo Bonilla, will participate in the second dialogue on the topic of Globalization and the Promotion of New Technologies in Emerging Markets. -
“Global to Local - a workshop for Regional Economics of Climate Change Studies” Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, April 6-8, 2008. The SECCI team will participate in this workshop organized by the Stern Team of Office of Climate Change (OCC), UK. The workshop will gather delegations of experts from various countries involved in the assessment of economic impacts of climate change, including Mexico and Colombia, where SECCI is supporting such efforts. The Workshop will discuss the consequences of climate change and its impacts on local growth, security and development agendas as well as informing potential responses to the threat in terms of cost effective options for mitigation and raising global technological and financial investment. -
