Special Recognition for Project Design and Execution

 

The recognition of good practices in mainstreaming gender into project design within the IDB promotes institutional learning and also provides positive incentives for staff. The following contribute to this end:

A) Investing in Gender Equality Brochures: highlights the projects that present innovative and effective mechanisms for addressing gender considerations in their designs.

    B) Awards for best project designs. First granted in 1999, it was initially recommended by the Women in Development External Advisory Council as a positive means for recognizing project team members and encouraging the mainstreaming of gender issues into IDB operations. The awards are issued every two-three years.
