The Program for the Support of Women's Leadership and Representation (PROLEAD) is one of the IDB's main initiatives in support of women's empowerment. PROLEAD's goal is to promote women's capabilities and opportunities to participate in decision-making spaces in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since its inception in 1998, the program has invested over US$8 million working with more than 120 organizations in the region; supporting networking among leaders and organizations; and analyzing progress and challenges in women's access to decision making spheres.
