In July 2005 the Bank created the first multi-donor Gender Mainstreaming Trust Fund. Its goal is to increase the level of gender mainstreaming in IDB-financed initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean by expanding the provision of technical support in gender mainstreaming for IDB staff and counterpart organizations in its member countries.
Created with a five-year working capital of US$3 million based on contributions by the Government of Norway, the Fund is inviting other donor countries to join and contribute towards its goal.
