Updates From the LAC Health Accounts Steering Committee
November 2003
In 2003, the El Salvadorian
health accounts team, composed of representatives of the Ministry of
Public Health and Social Assistance, the General Directorate of
Statistics and Censuses, the Central Reserve Bank, the Ministry of
Education, the Ministry of National Defense, and the El Salvadorian
Institute of Social Security,
completed the most recent of the series of five annual estimates
(that began in 1996), although full
institutionalization still presents a challenge.
August 2002 El Salvador was part of the initial 1997 LAC
Health Accounts program that employed the Harvard NHA model, and has
conducted annual health expenditures estimates for the years
1996-1999. Submit Your
