The general objective of this technical-cooperation operation is to help institutionalize forums for dialogue and the spread of democratic participation and consensus-building processes as mechanisms for social, economic and political inclusion.

The specific objective is to support the Madre y Maestra Pontifical University in establishing and strengthening a center for the study, prevention and resolution of social conflicts as an institutional base for training, research, use and dissemination of mechanisms to prevent and settle social disputes.

The program is intended to support the center through financing for: i)technical advisory services to design and introduce programs on conflict resolution; ii)institutional development; iii)a seminar on consensus-building and conflict management; and iv)training workshops.
