Lessons from the World Bank with Consultation and Participation in Latin America and the Caribbean

This review of World Bank experience with consultation and participation in Latin America and the Caribbean is intended to contribute to the development of the strategy for consultation and participation currently underway at the IDB. It is important to note, however, that the information provided in this chapter comes substantially from World Bank publications and from interviews with World Bank staff who were in the cases cited herein, and who are clearly advocates of consultation and participatory approaches to development.
