Rural Development Strategy and Policy
The Inter-American Development Bank is in the process of preparing a Strategy and Policy for Rural Development. The drafts of the documents will be available soon.
The public consultation of the Advanced Profile of the Rural Development Policy concluded on June 3, 2005. The objective of the consultation was to facilitate a critical analysis of the Advanced Rural Development Policy Profile with the aim of improving the draft Policy document with suggestions, observations, and recommendations emanating from the governments, the civil society, and the private sector of Latin America and the Caribbean.
- An electronic conference open to all. As a result, a Synthesis Report of the Electronic Conference was prepared. (This document is available only in Spanish).
- A direct consultation that targeted between 500-1000 persons and organizations representative of the public sector, civil society, and the private sector of Latin America and the Caribbean. As a result, a Synthesis Report of the Direct Consultation was prepared. (This document is available only in Spanish).
- A regional synthesis meeting was held wherein representatives from the governments, civil society organizations, and private sector companies of several countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well international agencies, reviewed and discussed the Advanced Rural Policy Profile. As a result, a Synthesis Report of the Regional Consultation of the Advanced Rural Development Policy Profile was prepared. (This document is available only in Spanish).
