This paper takes a first look at the costs of motherhood in terms of wages and labor force participation for a group of four Latin American countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru.
These countries were chosen because their household surveys collect data that allows us to identify the birth mother of each of the children within a household.
