This publication seeks to provide a case for using wireless applications over other technologies in the provision of basic services in Latin America and the Caribbean. Examining existing wireless Internet applications around the world, the paper presents the economic case for increasing the use of wireless technology in Bank projects, and for increasing the Bank's focus on wireless Internet policy.
