Profile of the Operational Policy on Indigenous Peoples

This is a policy profile currently under preparation within the Bank. It does not necessarily reflect official Bank views on the topic. Once the policy is favorably considered by the Bank's Board of Executive Directors, it will be published as a Bank document.
Complementing the Strategic Framework for the Indigenous Development, the Bank's Operational Policy on Indigenous Peoples will define the rules, conditions and requirements for the implementation of Bank strategies related to the indigenous peoples. This mandatory document will define the actions that the Bank will take to: 1) systematically promote the development with identity of the indigenous peoples; and 2) protect the individual and collective rights of the indigenous peoples in the Bank's development operations.
