July 2000 Evaluation Workshop
The workshop addressed the operational issues involved in the design and implementation of project impact evaluation such as costs and benefits, political feasibility of different methodologies, and collaboration between national and international agencies. - Health: Gustavo Angeles, Deputy Director of the MEASURE Evaluation Project at the Carolina Population Center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focused on health issues, particularly on the evaluation of the Health Care Decentralization Program in Paraguay.

Microenterprise: Elizabeth Dunn, Research Fellow at the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Missouri-Columbia, illustrated the experience of the AIMS project (Assessing the Impact of Microenterprise Services) supported by the USAID, and presented the evaluation of the Program Microfinance Clients in Lima, Peru.

Education, Nutrition and Health: Rafael Flores and Emmanuel Skoufias, Research Fellows at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), presented IFPRI's evaluation work with targeted human development programs in Honduras, PRAF II, and in Mexico, PROGRESA.
