Like in the above described country reports, the majority of statistical analysis is being done by the National Statistical Institute. Generally most SME related research is undertaken incidentally, which means that most of the current available information need to be updated. Most research reports are produced by international organizations. A sheer lack of research tradition and capacity, direct the activities of privately operating research organizations to the more lucrative sector of large domestic businesses and multinationals. Since the issue of the report by Wilfried Roseval it seems that no unified strategies have been developed to defend the common interests of the SMEs. Lack of co-operation and co-ordination between responsible (governmental) authorities, rivalries and no information sharing between intermediate organizations destroy their common interest. devaluations of the national currency business sector and an unstable exchange rate are considered to be major stumbling blocks by the business sector. Furthermore, a situation of relative low wages and high energy costs cancels each other, as a result of which exports have been deteriorating in recent years.
As a result, in search for SME oriented organizations only some grass root organizations that are active as credit corporations could be traced. Contacted organizations are:
