Information and Communication Technology for Development

The Information and Communication Technology for Development Division (ICT) facilitates matching the development needs of the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region in the area of information and communication technology with the resources and capabilities of the Bank.
As countries attempt to generate synergy to ensure the achievement of development objectives, the Division is involved in generating internal synergy in order to respond effectively and in a timely manner to the new set of integrated requirements from the LAC Region, generated by Globalization.
In order to accomplish this matching, the Division operates through a matrix organization involving sectoral and intersectoral projects. Forming strategic alliances within and outside the Bank is a key aspect of this approach since efforts are reinforced, not duplicated.
