The Inter-American Development Bank, the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA), and the Latin American Banking Federation (FELABAN) organized  the II Regional Conference Public Sector - Private Sector.

Objectives

The objective of this second meeting was to discuss the implementation policies that generated the New Capital Accord in the Region. For this meeting, we have selected the item "The New Basel Capital Accord (NBCA) and the use of External Credit Assessment Institutions (ECAI); key policy options."

The event provided the regulators and the industry the opportunity to debate their different points of view on the New Capital Accord that will constitute the regulatory column of the supervisory function for the next decade.

The Conference took place on January 30, 2004 at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C., 1300 New York Avenue NW.
