Gender Mainstreaming Trust Fund (GMF)

The Gender Mainstreaming Trust Fund (GMF) started operations in 2006 as a multi-donor fund. The Fund counts with the generous support of the governments of Norway, which provided initial contributions, and Canada. Its goal is to increase the level of attention to gender mainstreaming in IDB-financed initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. In order to accomplish this objective the GMF supports activities that enhance gender mainstreaming throughout the project cycle; improve the availability and quality of technical support and analysis of gender issues; and strengthen institutional mechanisms.

(Note: The fund is not open for applications of organizations outside the IDB)
