Progressive Housing
The document on progressive housing in Chile is a study carried out by the Social Programs Division of the Inter-American Development Bank on good practices in affordable housing in Latin America and the Caribbean. The objective was to determine how programs supporting the construction of progressive housing could be included in programmes financed by the Bank in support of reform of the housing sector in the Region.
To this end, an analysis of the evolution of the Program of Progressive Housing was carried out in Chile to identify project achievements and challenges. The Government of Chile has been executing this program with support from the IDB since 1990 - making it one of the oldest such projects in Latin-American.
