Women in the Latin American Labor Market: The Remarkable 1990's

The 1990?s brought considerable, even remarkable, changes for women with respect to labor market outcomes. With important exceptions, many of the trends favored women. This paper illustrates different patterns of women?s participation in market work in Latin American and Caribbean countries and investigates the underlying determinants of the different patterns.
