In this issue of the newsletter we wish to share with you some of the deliberations and results presented at recent conferences that the SOC Division helped to coordinate. They deal with complex social issues for which there is little solid evidence and even fewer prescriptions. We thank our partners in the Bank and in outside agencies who joined us in coordinating and sponsoring these events where we hope to have added some useful knowledge. The papers presented at the conferences, as well as the other products produced (a video and a map on disability, a database for women), are or will be available through the Banks bookstore or through the DivisionŐ In this issue
