Third Regional Conference on Justice and Development

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:

The Third Regional Conference on Justice and Development was held under the auspicies of the Government and Supreme Court of Ecuador in Quito from 24 to 26 of July 2003.

In 1993 the First Regional Conference on Justice and Development marked our institution?s first venture into judicial reform. Ten years after that milestone for the Bank, this third conference took stock of a decade of judicial reform and the Bank?s efforts to support processes that strengthen democracy in the region. Judicial authorities from the region and subject-matter experts were invited to the event with the aim of identifying lessons that would guide us in better supporting countries in this area.
