Staff Descriptions
Pietro Masci is Chief of the Infrastructure and Financial Markets Division. From 1993 - 1998, he was Chief of the Cofinancing Division of the Bank. He worked for the Italian Treasury and was responsible for the external borrowing programs and management of public debt. He managed the US portfolio of Italian Mutual Funds. He has served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and as a Board Member of Italian banks. He has also worked with the Inter-American Investment Corporation and World Bank. Masci holds degrees in economics and political science from the University of Rome; a diploma in international banking from London Polytechnic; and an MBA in finance from George Washington University.

Carolin Crabbe is an economist and finance specialist. From 1997 to 2000 she was CEO of the Global Finance Group, LLC, a project finance company serving small and mid-size markets including hotels, resorts, power and environmental energy projects in the region and Central Europe. Prior to that she was the Director of USAID's private sector program in Russia, working closely with the Russian reformers to support the move to a market economy, including programs to establish the stock exchange, business development centers and corporate restructurings. From 1989--1994 she headed USAID's small business development program for Latin America, and subsequently Central Europe, partnering with commercial banks to expand lending to SMEs. She has also worked for money center banks in corporate and project finance, held staff positions at the World Bank and has been Adjunct Professor at American University's Graduate School. She did her undergraduate work at Southern Methodist University, graduate work in economics at George Washington and Georgetown Universities and, is also a graduate of the Economic Development Institute.
