Conference
5Th Public - Private Sector Dialogue
Banking on Small Business

May 7 and 8, 2007
Inter-American Development Bank Headquarters, Washington D.C.

The meeting will take place within the framework of the Banks seminars on financial sector and development and regulation. It will bring together bankers, regulators and practitioners to explore the constraints that prevent the region's small businesses from readily acquiring finance. These constraints include aspects of the legal and regulatory framework, business and transactions' environment and fiscal policy. While these constraints are not unknown, resolving and permanently eliminating them has proven difficult. The objective of the conference is to establish an agenda that will increase awareness of the barriers to banking in the region, promote ways that policymakers can overcome them and share knowledge of successful downscaling and upscaling banking models.

The event will be held on May 7 and 8th, 2007 at the Enrique V. Iglesias, IADB Auditorium - Level A3 1330 New York Ave., NW, Washington D.C., 20577.
