Water and Poverty: Report on the progress of the Latin America and Caribbean regional initiative
(04/03, En, Es)
With the support from the IDB-Netherlands Water Partnership (INWAP), the IDB started discussions with several organizations, including the Global Water Partnership (GWP), CARE and others, about possible activities, products and participation of the Latin American and Caribbean region in water and poverty issues.
In order to create synergies with organizations like the GWP and CARE International, which were organizing national and regional consultation meetings for the Water and Governance Dialogue (one of the central topics of the III World Water Forum held in Kyoto, Japan), the IDB and these two groups established a collaborative effort to organize events on water, governance and poverty. As a result, four regional seminars ? two for South America and two for Central America and the Caribbean ? have been put in place. The IDB sponsored a session on water and poverty in each one of them. This report, available only in Spanish, discusses these four seminars. Click here to download this document in Spanish.
