Partnering with the IDB Group

Tackling the development challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean must be a collaborative effort. The IDB Group partners with governments, multilateral and bilateral institutions, foundations, private corporations, philanthropists, and civil society organizations, to leverage resources, implement innovative solutions and ensure sustainable impact in the region.

The Office of Outreach and Partnerships (ORP) is charged with strengthening the Inter-American Development Bank’s dialogue and alliances with key partners for development, including donor governments, co-financing agencies, foundations, individual philanthropists and the private sector. ORP supports the identification and implementation of joint initiatives with relevant partners that enhance the IDB’s capabilities to fulfill its development mandate in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Bank also develops specific initiatives, such as the so called Strategic Thematic Fund to Apply Market Solutions for Social Change, which is part of Opportunity for the Majorities Initiative (OM).

Would You Like to Support Social Change?

The Strategic Thematic Fund to Apply Market Solutions for Social Change supplements financial resources of the IDB, the private sector, nongovernmental organizations and official institutions to provide technical expertise necessary to make investments in low-income markets more effective. The Fund opens to its contributors the possibility to gain access to a $ 250 million IDB facility that offers loans and guarantees to support projects that improve the quality of goods and services in low-income markets.

This initiative is open to other private and public sector partners who adhere to geo-tourism principles and are interested in financing services and products that can be leveraged for innovation in the tourism sector.
