Understanding the Dynamics of Regional Innovation Systems and their Impact on Innovation in the Productive Sector

This project from the Science and Technology division of the Inter American Development Bank (IADB) aims to gain a better understanding of how Regional Innovation Systems (RIS) work and their potential impact on productivity. The technological development and innovation of firms are related to the way that links are established between enterprises and institutions in specific geographic areas, frequently at the regional (sub-national) level. Adequate interaction between firms, universities, research centers and local governments can shed light on policies and programs to be recommended at the regional level.
