    The amount of trust fund resources allocated for technical cooperation projects rose from US$27 million in 2004 to US$44 million in 2005—a 63% increase. Trust fund resources financed 58% of all IDB technical cooperation projects in 2005.

    Beneficiary Country


    In 2005, Peru was the largest recipient of trust fund resources. Guatemala, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico rounded out the top five recipients.

    Untied Funds


    Approvals from untied funds rose dramatically in 2005, accounting for 60% of total approvals.

    Program-driven Funds


    Approvals from program-driven funds have increased steadily in recent years, doubling between 2003 and 2005. Program-driven funds finance technical cooperation projects with a programmatic focus such as poverty reduction, social inclusion, and information and communication technology.
