HA-T1093 : Pilot of the One Laptop per Child Model
| Project Description: The proposed technical cooperation is co-financed by the Bank and the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Foundation. It lays out an experimental design that will allow for the cost-effectiveness of the OLPC model to be ascertained, as well as for the opportunity costs associated with investments in technology versus those in more traditional inputs to be determined, thereby laying the foundation for future investments in education quality. This is in line with the Social Fund's objectives and eligibility criteria (GN-2426-3) insofar as it will determine the characteristics of up-stream sector work. |
