Annual Report on Development Effectiveness Overview (DEO)
The Bank's first Development Effectiveness Overview (DEO) subsumes two previous corporate reports which will no longer be produced -- the Annual Report on Portfolio Management, Performance and Results (ARPRE) and the Medium Term Action Plan for Development Effectiveness (MTAP). It highlights for the Board of Directors the issues deemed by Management to be most critical for advancing the development effectiveness agenda and is more strategic and decision-oriented. It also represents Management's attempt to consolidate a number of key reports on development effectiveness in one document, pursuant to discussions with the Board, and in line with operational efficiency goals.
Rather than provide a detailed accounting of a range of activities related to progress on the development effectiveness action plan and to portfolio performance, this report brings together information from various angles to form the big picture and to emphasize results: from corporate to operational, enriched by arms length reviews of projects on the ground. It also incorporates information related to Bank activities supporting poverty reduction and social equity.
