PE-L1057 : Sanitation Sector Reform Program III
| Project Description: Support for a series of policy reforms in order to: optimize the equitable use of investment resources in order to maximize the return on investments; improve service provider governance, transparency, reporting, and corporate decision-making to promote long-term sustainability of services; strengthen the operational capacities of the governing and regulatory authorities to promote proper execution of government programs; complement the regulatory framework for small cities and rural areas; improve the quality and transparency of the tariff system, including compensation for environmental variables, to enhance service efficiency and sustainability; and to promote the participation of specialized operators to improve the public utilities' management.The program has been structured into the following six components: (i) macroeconomic stability; (ii) institutional framework; (iii) financial policy;(iv) rate policy; (v) operator management; and (vi) private sector participation. This is the third phase. |
