PE-L1020 : Support to Water for Everyone Program - Sedapal (SPDL)
| Project Description: Improve the beneficiary population's quality of life and environment, expanding coverage of water and sewer service. Also, the program would help meet the water and sanitation initiative (document GN-2446-3) targets, particularly in three of the cities of the "100 Cities Program".The SEDAPAL Water for All program (phase I) provides for works in ninegeographic areas in the outlying urban areas of Lima that would widen water andsanitation service coverage and improve operational infrastructure in support of the government's strategy to attain universal coverage for Metropolitan Lima.SEDAPAL will carry out the program over a five-year period, delivering potablewater to some 49,000 beneficiary families, and sewer service to some57,000 families. The three projects financed under this loan (SargentoLorentz, Amauta Valley and Carabayllo integral system) will give 25,592 households access to water, and provide sewer service to 23,118 families (in terms of population, the benefit would be expressed as access to water or sewer service for 284,000 individuals, not to mention the additional benefits that would accrue from an improved water supply system, new reservoirs, household metering and sectorization, amongst others). |
