CO-T1139 : Support of Private Participation and Concessions in Infrastructure
| Project Description: This technical cooperation will finance the technical and institutional support that the National Planning Department (DNP) needs to continue with the process of private sector participation in infrastructure projects. Specifically this TC will finance studies to determine the objectives and the conceptual design of the SPTS in five medium-size cities (Ibagué, Villavicencio, Valledupar, Montería, and Buenaventura) that will provide the technical grounds to develop and propose institutional, regulatory, planning and operational guidelines for the provision of public transport services.In addition, the project will incorporate a component on Fuel Gas and access to electric energy. In order for Colombia to progress in terms of equality, it is necessary to adopt measures that allow for the population to access public services. Based on this, the policy on access to Electric Energy services and Gas is based on the following principles: (1) increase of coverage with a sustainability criteria; (2) quality improvement of services provided; and (3) strengthening of public services provider companies. |
