CH-L1056 : Energia Pacifico S.A. Biomass Cogeneration Plant
| Project Description: This 15.6MW biomass co-generation plant is being developed by Energia Pacifico S.A. (EP), a special purpose vehicle established for the sole purpose of building and operating the plant. The plant will be located in San Francisco de Mostazal, in Chile VI Region, approximately 60km south of Santiago. EP is a subsidiary of Empresas Coipsa S.A., a Chilean company founded in 1985 that is the holding of a group of companies that produce and sell paper and cardboard-boxes made from recycled paper. The plant will sell approximately 50% of its electricity output and all its steam output to Compania Papelera del Pacifico S.A. (CPP), the largest company within the Empresas Coipsa group, through a long-term power purchase agreement. The remaining electricity will be sold on the wholesale electricity market (the Central Integrated System, SIC) through the electric substation at San Francisco de Mostazal. |
