Media Campaign Toolbox

The media is a powerful channel of outreach; it not only informs, but also can help form public opinion. When involved in the Don't Call Me Street Kid! Campaign, it is critical that your organization think media! Television, radio, newspapers or magazines are a few of the venues that will help you enhance the coverage and scope of your awareness efforts.

  • Think media when promoting the basic rights and capabilities of these children.

  • Think media when discussing "what is working" and "what might work" in your community for the protection, enrichment and empowerment of children.

  • Think media to achieve your particular campaign goals. Do you want to build general awareness? Promote a particular behavior? Advocate for a policy change?

The following section provides a useful toolbox that can help your organization think media when engaging in campaign activities.
