"Aid for Trade" in the VII Hemispheric Meeting of the Trade Network | The VII Hemispheric Meeting of the Trade and Integration Network was celebrated on September 11th and 12th, 2006, in Washington DC, with a Special Session with ministers to discuss the WTO Aid for Trade initiative as it relates to the Latin American and Caribbean countries.
Luis Alberto Moreno, president of the Inter-American Development Bank, gave the introductory words for a Round Table discussion with Mia Mottley, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development and Economic Affairs of Barbados; Temístocles Montás, Technical Secretary of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic; Alejandro Foxley, Minister of Foreign Relations of Chile, and Jorge Humberto Botero, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia. Nohra Rey de Marulanda, manager of the Department of Integration and Regional Programs was the moderator, and the Colombian Representative to the WTO, Claudia Uribe, member of the “Aid for Trade” Initiative Working Group was in charge of presenting the case for discussion.
