In recent years, policy-makers and research
centers in Latin America and the Caribbean have shown significant
interest in learning about the economic and social development experiences
of Japan and other countries in Asia.
This interest is based on the
marked successes, and difficulties, in economic and social development
in Asia over the past several decades, and the view that lessons
learned are likely to be useful and applicable to Latin America. |
