| In
1997, the Laventille and Environs Beautification Committee obtained
government funding to paint huge likenesses of Trinidads two
national birds, the elegant scarlet ibis and the coco loco, on the
sides of the water tanks atop Picton Hill. The tops of the tanks
were painted with the notes of a steel pan. The images are visible
from land and air. Photo by David MangurianIDB. |
