IDB funds education reform in Guatemala
On June 27 the IDB approved a $22 million loan to finance the second stage of an education reform program in Guatemala. The loan, which will be matched by $2.5 million in local counterpart funds, will allow Guatemalas Ministry of Education to strengthen institutional capacity within the education system while improving the coverage and quality of instruction. This is the second of three planned stages in a reform program intended to ensure that preschool and primary education is accessible to everyone in Guatemala.
