Patricia
Tobacco-Forrester (Northampton, Massachusetts, 1940)
Royal Flush, Color lithograph, 1990
"A resident
of Washington, D.C., for many years and a seasoned veteran of
the art gallery circle, Tobacco-Forrester is well-known in the
United States for her extraordinary ability to handle watercolor.
Her distinguished career focused on nature, her works evoking
with great delicacy the danger faced by the natural environment
due to human actions. She has traveled extensively throughout
Central America, especially Costa Rica and Nicaragua, observing
the forests that still remain in those countries. The IDB owns
a larger watercolor by the same artist inspired by the dry forest
of Costa Rica."
