How a police chief became a "born-again feminist"

Margaret Hagen-Wood, a senior operations officer at the IDB, was the project team leader who designed the domestic violence project and is coordinating its implementation.

Hagen-Wood was the first female loan officer ever hired by the IDB. She subsequently worked at the World Bank as a loan officer for Nigeria in the West Africa Operations Department for six years. After several years in which she combined motherhood with freelance consulting for international organizations, Hagen-Wood rejoined the IDB on a permanent basis in 1990. She has since served as the country coordinator for Nicaragua, Belize and Mexico, and now works on Suriname and the Bahamas in the Bank’s Regional Operations Department 3.
