Meet the Curator
Félix Angel, curator of the
IDB's Cultural Center, is an artist and author who was already
well-known in his native Colombia before coming to the United
States in 1977. Since then he has been a familiar figure in the
Washington, D.C. art scene, both as an independent artist and
also as a curator.
Angel has presented more than 80
one-person exhibits in Latin America and the United States, and
has participated in more than 250 group exhibits in the Western
Hemisphere and Europe. He has received three international awards.
Among his written works are a novel and a compilation of criticism
and interviews of artists from the Colombian city of Medellín.
Angel has a degree in architecture
from the National University of Colombia, Medellín campus.
